About
Tommy Hilfiger Bedding:
Tommy Hilfiger was the second of nine
children, and was born in a small, upstate town in New York in 1951. He knew
early on that he wanted a career in fashion, and instead of going to college at
age 18, he opened his first retail business. Hilfiger named his store The
Peoples Place and has always aimed to present his products for the people.
He would journey down to the fashion center, New York City, and purchase and
modify jeans and bell-bottom pants to sell in his upstate store. Hilfigers love
of New York City eventually lured him to New York City to live and establish a
new business. Hilfiger wanted to enter design himself, rather than marketing
other designers products.
Hilfiger began with designing mens
jeans and sportswear under the Tommy label. His products were an immediate
success and his apparel designing grew into the empire it is known as today, to
include mens suits, womens wear, childrens wear, eyeglasses, fragrances and
home furnishings. His enormously popular clothing line with the All American
Theme is worn by everyone from yuppies to rappers.
Tommy Hilfiger is extensively
recognized throughout the world as a fashion guru, having created a popular,
unique line of apparel known for its high fashion appeal and quality details,
which delighted even the most discerning buyer, and his products are moderately
priced and are hence available to a large customer base.
Tommy Hilfigers focus on quality
was evidenced by a visit in April, 2008 to a large clothing store, where he
personally tried on a pair of every pants and jeans produced by his company
under his label. He was examining the quality, the appropriate use of the
details he had designed, along with the comfort level of his pants.
Tommy Hilfigers early bedding
design, Americana, was a huge success. The Americana bedding stylishly captured
a patriotic theme, with one ensemble boasting red, white and blue stripes,
reminiscent of the American flag, and another bedding ensemble with solid
backgrounds and boldly accented by stars. American Tradition was the dominant
theme for these initial bedding designs, and Tommy Hilfiger has since expanded
his line of bedding ensembles to include multiple themes, all of which are
stylish, wholesome and unique.
Every bedding ensemble designed by
Tommy Hilfiger includes numerous accessories, with the comforter or duvet cover
as the piece introducing the theme of the collection, accented by a coordinating
bed skirt, sheets, Euro-shams, decorator pillows, and, in some cases, window
treatments and bath decor, all of which, when combined together, create a total,
unified theme for the bedroom, polished, stylish and delightful.
Tommy Hilfiger Bedding has a fresh
American style - clean-cut, strikingly simple and high quality - that is
enormously popular. Hilfiger focuses on quality fabrics, primarily excellently
woven cotton with high thread counts and vibrant, unique decorative details to
give time-honored classical bedding an updated look. Such details include
contrasting stitches, double stitching, rope cording, tasseled edging, flanged
edges, piping, embroidered patterns and striking cuffs, all of which add to the
style and comfort of his bedding ensembles. Hilfiger Beddings use of lush
fusions of fabrics and outstanding colors in intricate patterns and textures
gives every bedding ensemble a look of its own. Tommy Hilfiger Bedding offers an
extensive variety of styles, appealing to a broad customer base including
children, teens and adults. Hilfiger claims that his goal is to design his
products as traditional, with a twist. His bedding ensembles are so inviting
and delightful that they make the bedroom a respite from the stresses of
everyday life.
